Updated 02/13/2019,

I am Fae Rowen and your visitor privacy is important to me—like your physical safety onboard this battle cruiser. If you have concerns, contact me on the form provided.

My site is protected by SSL, ensuring that all data sent to or from my server is encrypted. In addition, I use  powerful security software to maintain security on my site.

There are people who try to fill any website with spam comments. To protect my site from spam, your information is compared with a list of known spam senders. I use CleanTalk to provide anti-spam services. Your comment information will be sent to them for the sole purpose of checking it for spam. CleanTalk works hard to keep data sent from the EU in the EU and data sent from other continents on that continent. If you are concerned with their processing of your data, do not leave comments.

The only information I store on my site is information you provide freely.

Note: Children under sixteen years of age must have parental consent before using the site and before using any forms on the site.

What, why and how your private information is stored when you visit this website

Newsletters

When you subscribe to my newsletter, I collect your name, IP address (the address of your computer), and your email address so I can send you infrequent information about what is going on in my worlds. Want to be removed from this list? Click unsubscribe at the bottom of any newsletter.

In addition, my newsletters send a message back to my website when they are opened. This helps me design better future content. I store the statistics about whether you’ve opened the newsletters or not.

I collect your email address when you subscribe either from the subscription form or by checking to be added to the list from a comment form. I use The Newsletter Plugin to handle subscriptions to my email list. The Newsletter Plugin provides all the technical tools needed to achieve GDPR compliance. The plugin does not collect users’ own subscriber data, nor has it access to that data.

Contact Forms

Contact Forms on this site allow you to send me a message. This message, along with your email address, ip address, and your name, is checked for spam by CleanTalk and sent to me via email. CleanTalk will store your information temporarily to give me time to change the classification of spam or not spam that they have associated with your message. This information is also stored on my server in case I need to reference it later.

Comments

To allow for discussion, you have the opportunity to post comments on this website. The information collected includes your name, email address, IP address, and your comments. If you ever wish to have your comments removed, send me a quick note through the form below and I’ll remove them.

Website Activity Tracking

My hosting company provides me with basic data on those who access my site. The data stored in this manner is not traceable back to any individual and is deliberately generalized. It provides me with information related to the country of origin of site visitors, what browser they are using, and how long they stayed on the site.

In addition, Google and other search engines track website visitors. This happens whenever you use the Internet. If you do not want to be tracked, please consider using a private browser window.  The information that these search engines store is not traceable to one individual and so is very generic in nature. I do not store this information, however I do occasionally look at it so that I can tell what people are searching for when they come to my site. I’m also using Google Analytics to learn why people are visiting my site. How did you come to be here? Why are you here? Do you like me? Scary, but Google knows these things. I figure, I might as well look at the information, it helps me provide more relevant content.

Use of Cookies

I use cookies on this site to personalize the site. A cookie is a small text file that is placed on your hard drive by a Web page server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a Web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you. One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. For example, if you personalize a web page or navigate within a site, a cookie helps the site recall your specific information on subsequent visits. This simplifies the process of delivering relevant content, eases site navigation, and so on. When you return to the website, the information you provided can be retrieved so you can easily use the site’s features that you customized.

If you have an account and you log into this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Many Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. If you decline cookies, you may not be able to fully experience the interactive features of this or other websites you visit.
